Share the Air
Recorded at B.C. Studios in Park Slope, Brooklyn, NYC, Share the Air is the second Cousin Fungus album. To capture the raw energy and driving style that is Cousin Fungus 2002, we chose engineer Martin Bisi (who's worked with such musicians as Herbie Hancock, Sonic Youth, Helmet, Lydia Lunch, Dim Sum Clip Job, and many others). |

Thoughts Of A Moth It was a warm, clear September evening at the Village Club of Sands Point, where Cousin Fungus celebrated the release of their debut, eleven-song album, "Thoughts of a Moth." The sold out private release party was held inside a stunning 17th century mansion atop the cliffs of Sands Point, overlooking the Long Island Sound from Port Washington, where the band is based. Choice ticket holders and industry VIP's were treated to an all out bash. Tens of thousands of dollars worth of sounds and lighting equipment were assembled beneath tall marble archways and cathedral ceilings at the far end of a massive front hallway. The band was obviously electrified by the environment, tearing through an immersive single-set show with contagious intensity. Lighting director and lyricist Shaun Mangan had a field day with the monstrous lighting rigs, taking the light-show to new levels, and foreshadowing the potential pyrotechnic drama of things to come. Meanwhile, chief engineer Tony Alfano harnessed the power of the show with clarity and depth in a room full of reverb that would have readily devoured lesser engineers. Neatly on display at the front of the hall were Cousin Fungus shirts, stickers, CDs and other gear that the band will bring to cities all across the northeast this year. All in all, the "Thoughts of a Moth" CD release party was an awesome event not to be missed. But if you didn't get a ticket, there's always a chance next time. Cousin Fungus has dozens of original songs waiting in the wings for the folow-up album. |
